Nepal Medical Camp

Ever since the severe earthquake in Nepal in 2015, the Sri Sathya Sai Charitable Trust UK has been contributing to various relief and rehabilitation efforts there, in close collaboration with the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation and the Trust in Nepal. As a part of these efforts, a team of 61 healthcare professionals from UK visited the country and conducted free healthcare camps in 4 different locations in Nepal over a period of 8 days and served approximately 10.000 people in the remote areas. Apart from facilitating various medical services at these camps, SSSCT UK supported necessary essential and emergency procedures for needy patients who were referred to the nearest hospitals. The Trust helped to upgrade medical and dental equipment, donated free heart valves for patients awaiting cardiac surgery, and an ambulance; free stationery items, uniforms, grants for school desks and chairs were given to school children in various locations and residents of a Girls Home; free nutritious meals to all those who attended the camps, and baby packs containing essential items for newborns were given to 300 mothers.
